This is a teacher’s direct blog. The blog page looks boring when you open it up, but she does something really cool with her students. She has them create their own blogs where they post their class work. The teacher then goes into their post and helps make corrections.

Wrapping it Up Blog
A Special Education Teacher speaks of her turning in his “alternative assessments” and starting finals week. specialed.about.com/b/

Special Classroom
This is a link to a blog that a special education teacher wrote about her classroom. The classroom is for visually impaired students and details the activities she uses to get the students ready to learn to communicate with their disability. Being that the students are severely visually impaired, the activities all have to do with senses other than sight. One of the skills that seems to be a focus for the class is learning braille and many of the activities listed deal with honing the students sense of touch. The blog is set up for teachers to view as a resource for more ideas for their own classrooms, not necessarily parents or students.

Teachers at risk
This is a very interesting blog about a SPED teacher that teaches to students at risk and realized that not a lot is done to help teachers in this area. The author of the blog provides a great deal of information about successful strategies she has implemented and also those that have not worked as well.

http://www.nakedscience.org/mrg/
This blog is for a science teacher at Southe Pointe High School in Phoenix Arizona.  She does a really good job of having links to relevant areas of the school related to science such as science clubs, science fairs, and current events in science.  It has great graphic representations and some really good articles of recent advances in science.  Also, there are links to recent school projects and field studies with pictures.  Students can easily participate in the blogs as well as access class materials and school documents.
